There are two good books about the Ruralists' work. This one has a more comprehensive selection of illustrations, Moore's excellent essay and an interesting section of photographs. This book puts more emphasis on the Arnolds and the Ovendens. The other (Ruralists, Art and Design) includes good sections on all the original group members and the other artists associated with them and an essay by Christoper Martin. Martin's essay is interesting and gives more information about the group's activities, whereas Moore's essay in this book puts the artists into an art-historical context.
